Alfredo Campoli discovery

Alfredo Campoli Recording disovered

A recording of Alfredo Campoli and Peter Katin, recorded during a concert in the Fairfield Halls Croydon, has just been discovered
The professional recording, made by Geoffrey Terry, has been carefully stored and when played after many years, the tape was in perfect condition. The sound quality is equal to any recordings made today and has the added advantage that it was not interferred with during the recording or transfer process. The end result is an audio, mirror image of the concert, which includes Mozart K526, the Beethoven Op30 no.2
Geoffrey Terry became friends with Alfredo and visited him at his house in Souhtgate on many occasions. He also recorded him during rehearsal. The final work on the CD is the Brahms Op108, recorded in Campoli's house, once again with Peter Katin. Information on the CD can be found by visiting www.orchestralconcertcds.com
